threat assessment and management

The first rule of threat assessment and management is - Maintain Dignity

We are here to listen and develop solutions.

Safety is paramount in all psychological evaluations and consultations. Sometimes safety is the referral question.

Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management is the art and science of looking at pre-incident behaviors to stop acts of targeted violence. That is fancy speak for saying that when we look at people who have concerning behaviors, we can use our knowledge to stop them from making a decision to commit an act of violence aimed at other people. Targeted violence is everyone’s worst nightmare. no one wants to see a shooting or other attach in their school, place of business, or place of worship. Though the world can seem like a scary place, the good news, is that when we work together, we can try to prevent these attacks. Putting together a threat assessment team that meets regularly, getting trained, practicing, and hiring a consultant such as Dr. Leite can create a climate of safety.

who is Dr. leite?

Dr. Stephanie Leite is the principal at Forensic Intelligence, LLC. She conducts corporate, municipal and school-based threat assessments, specializing in complex presentations. reports

Sometimes you need a short threat assessment report. Dr. Leite can do this! A short report helps with determining your next steps, assessing current risk, and conceptualizing the problem. She only needs to talk to you and anyone else important and review record. Look at the bottom of the page for a video. Sometimes you need a longer psychological threat assessment evaluation. This involves the participation of the person of concern and gets at the why. Sometimes you may need a FFDE. All are useful and tailored for your needs.

Training

Another specialty of Dr. Leite's is training. She has developed trainings on a wide range of topics such as threat and the autism spectrum, developing safe corporate culture, deception detection, interviewing, and decision making/bias prevention. She is available to speak on creating a culture that minimizes threat, working with personality disorders and other topics of interest. She is often told she explains complex topics in an interesting, humorous and accessible manner.

Dr. Leite has created a day-long training for corporate teams. The training covers threat assessment and management basics, corporate bullying, case consultation, and decision making 101. It can be adapted to your individual training needs. Dr. Leite has also created a two day training on K-12 threat assessment. Day one covers threat assessment basics and day two includes advanced topics such as autism spectrum disorders, stalking, and decision making. Both days have break outs, small group exercises, and table tops where the participants walk through the steps of assessing and managing a threat. This is also available as a one day training. One of her most popular trainings is on autism and threat assessment. She has completed full-day training for K-12 teams and university teams and would love to come to your school or workplace to share this knowledge with you.
